Boston Celtics want to trade Ray Allen

Boston Celtics is reported to be interested in trading Ray Allen before the February 19th tradeline. 34-year-old guard is at the last year of his $20 million contract, and it’s unlikely the Celtics will want to re-sign him this summer. Allen would consider a trade to Miami or to New York

Desmond Mason considering retirement

After 11 years in the NBA, Desmond Mason is currently a free agent after being waived by Sacramento Kings at the start of the season. Without any interesting offers to come back, Mason in considering the definitive retirement from basketball. Italian team Benetton Treviso was rumoured to be interested on him after waiving Cartier Martin (recently released by Warriors), but the deal was never made.

Ramunas Butautas considering coaching Polish NT

Lithuanian coach Ramunas Butautas would consider to coach Poland if the Federation offers him the job. Butautas, now in Zalgiris, was the head coach of the Lithuanian NT who played the last Eurobasket, failing to reach Semi-finals. Polish Federation was also interested in other Lithuanian coaches, Antanas Sireika and Tomas Pacesas, but they both rejected the offer.

Olympia Larissa sign Stephon Jackson

American guard Stephon Jackson will be the replacement of recently released Devin Green in Olympia Larissa. Jackson started the season playing for Turkish team Darussafaka, and it's expected to play next game against Ilisiakos in Greek A1.

David Ortega will stay in Blancos de Rueda Valladolid until the end of the season

Blancos de Rueda Valladolid have announced the extension of David Ortega until the end of the season. Spanish forward started the season in Valladolid with a temporary contract until November, extended then until the end of January. Ortega played last season for Gijón Baloncesto in LEB Plata

Atlanta Hawks sign Mario West for the rest of the season

Guard Mario West, who was at the end of his second 10-day contract with Atlanta Hawks, will play for the NBA franchise for the rest of the season. West played for Hawks the last two years, but started the season with D-League team Maine Red Claws. In eight games this season with Atlanta, former Georgia Tech player averaged 0.9 ppg, 1.6 rpg and 0.3 spg (.500 FG%, .600 FT%).

CAI Zaragoza sign Oriol Junyent

Spanish LEB Oro team CAI Zaragoza signed center Oriol Junyent, a free agent since not extending his temporary contract with ACB team Xacobeo Blu:Sens a couple of weeks ago. Junyent will play for CAI Zaragoza until the end of the season. CAI will be the third team Junyent plays for this year, after Blancos de Rueda Valladolid and Xacobeo.
