Mengke Bateer could be close to retirement

One of the first Chinese players to land in the NBA could have played his last game. Mengke Bateer, who played between 2002 and 2004 in Denver, San Antonio and Toronto, is rumored to considerate his retirement, though the player hasn't confirmed nothing yet. The 34-year-old center failed to win the CBA championship with his team, the Xinjiang Flying Tigers, after being defeated in the final series by the Guandong Southern Tigers. Bateer has averaged 13.7 points and 9.1 rebounds in 39.1 minutes per game this season.
